There are several different license management tools depending on the Charon emulator host system and the Charon emulator product. The following tools are discussed in detail in the section Tools Reference. The section License Management Tasks - Details shows how these tools are used to accomplish the specific task.

Cross-Platform Tools

The web-based GUI – Sentinel Admin Control Center – is part of the Sentinel HASP runtime package. It is available on all systems on which this runtime software has been installed. Please refer to the Sentinel Admin Control Center section for details.

Linux-Specific Tools

Tools available on Linux platforms include:

• Charon-AXP/VAX, Charon-SSP, and Charon-PAR:
  • hasp_srm_view – Used mainly to display license information and to export C2V and fingerprint files. The section hasp_srm_view provides more details.
  • hasp_update – Used mainly to apply V2C files for license updates. Please refer to hasp_update for details.
  • Charon license expiration check (Linux Toolkit component that can be used on all Linux-based Charon products).
• Charon-AXP/VAX:
  • Linux Toolkit – A comprehensive management interface for Charon emulator products on Linux. An overview of its licensing options and links to additional information are provided in the section Linux Toolkit.
• Charon-SSP:
  • Charon-SSP offers its own GUI-based management tool, the Charon-SSP Manager. As part of the Charon-SSP Manager, there are a GUI-based License Viewer, a License Update tool, and (starting with Charon-SSP version 2) a License Management tool. Windows-Specific Tools

Tools available on all Windows platforms include:

• HASP View – Used to display license information. See HASP View Utility for more information.
• License Update Service (RUS) – A GUI-based tool for extracting C2V and fingerprint files and for installing and updating licenses. Please refer to License Update Utility (RUS) for more information.
• Charon License Utility – a separate utility available from Stromasys free of charge that facilitates the installation and management of license driver and licenses.
