Emulator Product Overview
This section provides an overview of the different Charon emulator products available for Linux and Windows respectively. Details about every Charon emulator product can be found on the Stromasys product documentation page (Documentation).
Products and Platforms
The following table shows the available emulator products and the platforms they run on.
Please note that this document only differentiates between the general platform types Linux and Windows. Please refer to the product documentation page to learn about the currently supported distributions and versions of the platform.

Products and Licensing Support
All products in their current version support local hardware USB keys, software licenses and network licenses.
Support for software licenses was added last. The following table shows the first product versions to fully support them:

Some older versions of Charon-AXP and Charon-VAX/PDP can also use software licenses but may require manual intervention to do so. Contact your Stromasys representative or your VAR if you require a software license for versions prior to the ones listed above.
Products and License Driver Versions
Different products are bundled with different license driver versions. Often, this is not visible to the user. However, with the change to license driver versions greater or equal to version 7.60, the ACC user interface has changed noticeably. The following table shows which products have the newer versions:

Another noticeable change for Linux license driver versions in the latest product versions was the transition from the 32-bit license driver versions (*.i386.rpm) to the 64-bit versions (*.x86_64.rpm). The 64-bit versions no longer require the 32-bit glibc package. Typically, this change happened with license driver versions 7.103 and 8.13.
Please always review the product documentation of your Charon version for the exact version of the bundled license drivers.
Important note for software licenses:
Upgrading or downgrading the license driver version may make it necessary to remove the existing software license and request a new license from Stromasys due to incompatibilities between license handling in the different versions.
Know incompatibilities exist between version 7.63 and earlier versions, and between version 7.x and version 8.13.
Contact Stromasys or your Stromasys partner before performing an upgrade or downgrade of the license driver version while a working software license is installed. Failure of proper planning may cause unexpected emulator downtime.
