Description

This is the Patch Release Notes for Charon-VAX version 4.9 build 194-08 for Linux, a cumulative patch for Charon-VAX version 4.9 build 194-02 for Linux


Information

  • As this is a cumulative patch, this means that it also includes all the fixes provided by previous patch versions.
  • On first installation, you can install this patch directly, no need to install the vanilla product build 194-02 and then the patch.

Problems fixed

Problems fixed by patch 194-08

  • None. This build is only used to have the same build number if Charon-AXP is installed on the same server.

Problems fixed by patch 194-07

  • Issues with Network Control Utility (ncu) service (ID #5404)
  • "license_key_lookup_retry" functionality has been broken (so no retry was performed) (ID#5538)

Problems fixed by patch 194-04

  • Usage of Linux bonding adapter with Charon (ID #4750)
  • "Failed to query for max frame size" messages (ID #4899)
  • Team0 interface disappearing after being dedicated to Charon with NCU (ID #5434)

Installation

  1. Stop all running CHARON-VAX instances
  2. Make sure that no template files (i.e. "mv3k6.cfg.template") have been used for your specific configuration. Otherwise copy those files to some place to save.
  3. Login as "root" user.
  4. Proceed with update of the installed kit according to this instruction: CHARON-VAX for Linux installation

Deinstallation

Deinstallation can be applied only to CHARON product, not to the patch.
