This manual contains the release notes for the CHARON-AXP/SMA for Microsoft Windows 2.2.40 virtualization software.  It describes any features, restrictions, changes or additions made to CHARON-AXP/SMA for Microsoft Windows and includes information that is not provided elsewhere in the User's Guide.

This chapter notes the changes that were made in CHARON-AXP/SMA for Microsoft Windows 2.2.40, produced on 22-DEC-2014.

• Detect different valid HASP license dongle without restarting emulator.

• Solved problem in v2.2.39 with Ethernet "memory" model configuration.

• Sometimes OpenVMS can't resume the execution after enters the SRM console with "Ctrl + P".

• "Auto Start" and "Auto Restart" are not working properly.

• DEC3000 prints too much software license information in its log.

• Wrong expiration information reported in log file when unlimited key is used: "license: Time limited key /".

• Model start once, expiration timer of backup key decreases twice.

• There is no warning message in log file before license's expiration.

• A lot of unknown devices reported in OpenVMS when list buses with command "mc sysman io show bus".

• Under old Windows 2003, SMA+ can't handle tape block size larger than 64KB.

• Switch user account to run CHARON-AXP/SMA Plus for the first time will cause the running emulation terminated.

• Changed license from HASP HL to Sentinel HASP. A license update is required. Stromasys might request a c2v file taken from HASP license dongle in order to issue a license update. Please use "Key Update" item from CHARON-AXP tray icon to collect a c2v file and apply a v2c license update.

• Fixed the bug that expiration date cannot be displayed in log.

• Fixed an uninstall bug.

• MKimage utility now functions properly

• Any user in the Administrators group can now start Charon-AXP on Windows Server 2008(R2) and Windows 7.

• The console command "set bootdef_dev <device> now works properly.

• PuTTY now pops up automatically on Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2003.

• The SRM console command "continue" now functions properly.

• Fixed vtape file locking problem seen on Tru64 UNIX.
