hasp_update – Sentinel HASP Update and Transfer Utility

Basic Syntax

hasp_update u filename

Description

The hasp_update utility provides a simple command-line interface for manipulating the HASP License Key.

u

Apply the HASP key update found in filename.

i

Retrieve Sentinel protection key information and write it to filename. Not used for Charon products.

d

Detach a license from a Sentinel Software License (SL). Not used for Charon products.

r

Rehost a license from a Sentinel Software License (SL) key. Not used for Charon products.

Please note: only the u option of this command should be used. For all other functions, please use the Sentinel Admin Control Center or the hasp_srm_view utility.

Exit Status

The hasp_update command exits with 0 on success and 255 if an error occurs.

Example

The following example demonstrates the application of a V2C (vendor-to-customer) license key file.

# hasp_update u mylicenseupdate.v2c

If you received two V2C files as part of a license update, the *_fmt.v2c file must be applied first!
