- The star besides the "as4100 / pluto" virtual machine means it has been started using the "
vmstart pluto
" command and next commands lines like vmstop
, vmcfg
, vmconsole
will use this virtual machine if no other one is specified. - Enabling auto restart on failure is managed by
systemd
(not available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.X) and is described here: How to restart Charon-VAX/AXP on Linux automatically on failure. - The guest OS response is based on an optional script performing an ssh connection to the Tru64 system. For more, see: VM management - Create/Edit guest stop script. If the guest OS response returns error code 255, this means Tru64 or OpenVMS system is not booted (still at SRM prompt).
- The caption at the end of the list tells us one network interface card is used by different virtual machines:
- Here "pluto" and "as1000" use the same NIC eno50332216.
- Same for "pluto" and uranus" with the "ens42" network interface.
- This should not be in a production environment (dedicated NIC per virtual machine).
