Check the root password is not expired using the following command:
# chage -l root
Last password change : password must be changed
Password expires : password must be changed
Password inactive : password must be changed
Account expires : never
Minimum number of days between password change : 0
Maximum number of days between password change : 60
Number of days of warning before password expires : 7

If the password must be changed, the Linux toolkit is not able to start the virtual machine. Solution is to to change the root password immediately.
