Charon Report Utility for Windows
Description
The Charon Report Utility creates an HTML report file with useful information for the Stromasys support team, and a zip file that contains this HTML file and the configuration and log files of the virtual machines defined on the Windows server.
Installation
The Charon Report Utility is provided as a package in the Charon product kit and as an executable in case installing a package requires authorizations. It is not installed by default. The package is located in the "CharonReportUtility
" folder of the kit. It is also possible that Stromasys will provide a download link to get the latest version from our file server.
Install the package (.msi file), this will create a shortcut on the desktop and an entry in the Windows menu.
Prerequisites
- PowerShell 4.0, PowerShell 5.1 recommended.
Powershell 4.0 can work but with limitations, some functions will not be operational
If you installed PowerShell 7, please ensure PowerShell 5.1 is installed (not 4.0)
- To upgrade, please see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/scripting/windows-powershell/install/installing-windows-powershell
- .NET Framework 4.6 minimum, 4.8 recommended.
- Installed by default on Windows 10, 11, 2016, 2019 and 2022.
- For older versions of Windows, this has to be installed manually. For more, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/migration-guide/versions-and-dependencies
Usage
Open the executable file and click the "Generate report" button (the operation can take some time). Once completed, the resulting .zip file has to be sent to our support team.
