Charon-SSP for Linux - Supported Linux Versions
Please note:
- Older versions of Charon-SSP provided support for SSP+ and PCI pass-through only in the Charon-SSP Baremetal distribution. Later versions of Charon-SSP also provide this support for specific kernel versions of the supported Linux distributions. The required kernel module support depends on the unchanged kernel versions associated with the Linux version listed. Unless mentioned otherwise in the table below, all listed Linux versions are supported by the kernel modules provided by Charon-SSP as long as the original kernel version is not changed. For Oracle Linux, the RHEL compatible kernel must be used.
- Development versions are not listed. For example: RHEL 9.1 was initially supported in the development/pre-release Charon-SSP version 5.7.3. In the table below, Linx version 9.1 is listed for Charon-SSP 6.0.1, the first official version supporting it. More detailed information about intermediate versions can be found in the Release notes.
- Only 64-bit versions of Linux are supported.
- Please always refer to the Release Notes and the User's Guide of your version for more details (CHARON-SSP for Linux).
- CentOS 7.x and 8.x are EOL and not recommended for Charon-SSP.
Amazon Linux:
Limited support for Amazon Linux 2023 is provided starting with Charon-SSP version 5.6.7: only the non-plus versions of Charon-SSP are supported and a supported Charon-SSP AWS marketplace image must be used to launch the instance. MMU pass-through (available starting with Charon-SSP version 6) requires kernel version 6.1.61-85.
