AlphaServer 400 and network connectivity

Problem

No network connectivity.

Affected products: Charon-AXP all versions on Windows and Linux

Solution

The AlphaServer 400 has a special definition for network adapters where the irq_bus has to be specified.

(warning) On Windows, the Charon Network Control Center does not report this requirement: please add the irq_bus=isa setting manually

(lightbulb) In all cases, it is recommended to check the template configuration files provided

load DE500AA EWA interface = EWA0

load packet_port EWA0 interface = "ens33"

Windows:

load DE500AA/dec21x4x EWA interface=EWA0

load packet_port/chnetwrk EWA0 interface="connection:Charon"

Linux:

load DE500AA EWA irq_bus=isa interface = EWA0

load packet_port EWA0 interface = "ens33"

Windows:

load DE500AA/dec21x4x EWA irq_bus=isa interface=EWA0

load packet_port/chnetwrk EWA0 interface="connection:Charon"
