ESX server crash when network traffic occurs on emulex cards with be2net drivers

Problem

Network traffic started on virtual machines crashes the entire ESX server with a "#PF Exception 14" message.

Detected on VMware ESXi V5.1.0 build 11179000

Purple screen example:

Solution

Update to the lasted release of the network cards driver.

Problem is not related to Charon, the VMware support team reply:

"Issue reported on servers with Emulex network cards with be2net driver. This is a known issue with the NIC driver you are using. Can you update to the latest release of the driver"

Problem resolved after drivers update.
