Display Available Licenses with Sentinel Admin Control Center

The Sentinel Admin Control Center (ACC) is available on all platforms where the license drivers are installed. It provides an overview of the available licenses and shows some important license information. To run, it requires a graphical user interface or web access to the system on which the license is installed. For firewall considerations, see Firewall Considerations in Tasks Specific to Network Licenses. Remote access requires specific ACC settings. If there is no local GUI access to use a web-browser, please refer to  How-to enable remote connection to Sentinel Admin Control Center without GUI.

Different Charon products are bundled with different versions of the Sentinel drivers and thus different versions of Sentinel ACC. In order to identify the Sentinel ACC version and with it the available features, you can click on the About menu item on the left-hand side of the Sentinel ACC window. You can also easily recognize versions starting from version 7.60 by the different color scheme and the name gemalto (instead of SafeNet) at the top of the page.

Please note: the Sentinel ACC does not display the Charon product details. For displaying the detailed license content, please proceed to the Linux or Windows section respectively.

To display the licenses available on the local system with the Sentinel ACC, perform the following steps:

  1. Open a web-browser
  2. Go to the URL: http://localhost:1947/_int_/devices.html. This corresponds to the menu entry Sentinel Keys. If you want to display the licenses available on a remote system, replace localhost with the correct hostname.

You will see a screen similar to the following using one of the pre-7.60 versions of Sentinel ACC:

The sample shows a time-limited local USB key (Key Type: HASP HL Time) and a network license based on a software license (Key Type: HASP SL).

The following image shows a sample of the new Sentinel ACC version >= 7.60 bundled, for example, with Charon-AXP/VAX 4.9 and Charon-PAR 1.10 and later:

The sample above shows 3 local time-limited hardware license dongles and one time-limited network-enabled dongle.

Using the actions Features (for local licenses) and Browse (for network licenses), you can display the features associated with the respective license. The following example shows the output for the local, time-limited license dongle:

The feature associated with the license displayed above is an expiration date.

The following shows the features typically associated with a license used as a backup key. It is limited to 720 hours of runtime in addition to having an expiration time set:
