Removing the Sentinel Runtime Software

To completely remove the Sentinel runtime software from the system, the software must be deinstalled. Depending on whether a full Charon emulator product or only the license-specific packages of the installation kit were installed, the steps maybe slightly different.

On Linux, the related RPM packages must be deinstalled (using the yum erase or rpm -e command).

On Windows, the deinstallation will be performed in one of the following methods:

  • Via the GUI option to deinstall the Charon emulator product.
  • Via the CHARON on Windows - Charon License Utility (in case of a standalone installation); Stromasys provides the utility for download free of charge.
  • The command haspdinst.exe -fr -kp -nomsg to deinstall only the license driver (deprecated - use the Charon Licensing Utility).

Please refer to the appropriate user's guide of your Charon product (see Documentation) for detailed instructions on how to remove the license driver software from the system

Please note:

  • After removing the license drivers, the installed licenses will no longer be available to the local system or to clients of a license server.

  • Make sure that this will not negatively impact your production environment before actually removing the license drivers.
