Sometimes there may be the need to remove a license from a VE License Server.

Please note:

  • Deinstalling the license server software will not remove an installed license.
  • Removing the directory /opt/license-server will not remove an installed license.

There are two ways to remove an existing license:

  • If a new V2C file (that is, a new license) is installed on the license server, the old license is removed.
  • If you initiate a license transfer (c2v -t <file-name>) on a license server, the installed license will be invalidated. See also Transferring a License to Another Server.
